Schedule/Hours:

12-hour nights: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, three shifts per week

Key Qualifications:

Active KS or Compact RN license BLS certification Minimum 2 years' experience in psychiatric nursing (hospital setting preferred) Proficient in psych patient assessments (including disposition planning) Experience managing violent patients and leading de-escalation efforts Not open to new graduates

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct patient care to high-risk psychiatric patients, including medication administration, safe use of restraint, de-escalation interventions, and coordination for inpatient or state hospital placement Conduct comprehensive assessments for all psych patients in the Emergency Department, determine appropriate disposition, and manage safety planning, placement, and transport Respond to Behavioral Response Team calls across the hospital, supporting bedside staff and police during crisis situations
