  • Temporary, Travel nursing, Contract Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Travel Registered Nurse (ED) to join our dynamic healthcare team.
In this role, you will provide specialized emergency nursing care across various hospital settings, including Level I and Level II trauma centers, critical care units, and urgent care facilities. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive timely, comprehensive, and compassionate care during their most vulnerable moments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and diverse clinical environments, demonstrating exceptional clinical judgment and a commitment to excellence in patient outcomes. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients presenting with acute injuries, illnesses, or trauma in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms and trauma centers. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations. Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols. Manage airway maintenance with ventilator support and perform advanced procedures such as suturing and catheterization when necessary. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Monitor patients continuously for signs of deterioration or improvement, adjusting interventions accordingly. Assist in triage processes to prioritize patient care based on severity of condition. Support infection control practices and adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during critical moments. Skills Extensive experience in emergency medicine, ICU, trauma medicine, or hospital medicine settings. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, tube feeding management, and sterile processing procedures. Familiarity with advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), basic life support (BLS), and airway management protocols. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform complex assessments under pressure while maintaining professionalism and accuracy. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly across various clinical environments such as outpatient clinics or inpatient units.
