Job Description

As a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist, you'll work in a 42-bed medical respiratory unit, specializing in both acute and chronic respiratory care. This role will deepen your experience with complex respiratory conditions while exposing you to varied workplace settings and leadership approaches. You'll have the chance to expand your skills in coordination with an interdisciplinary care team, further enhancing your professional growth. Floating between units and hospitals enables you to gain expertise across diverse patient populations, enriching your resume and preparing you for future career advancement.
Schedule/Hours:
Choose from 36 or 48 hours per week Holidays as required Every other weekend Willingness to float to other units and hospitals
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Associate degree in nursing (required) Active Registered Nurse licensure in Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses) Current AHA BLS or Red Cross certification Minimum of 2 years' experience, or 18 months with highest level of license and at least 1 recent year in the specialty Comfortable treating respiratory and varied medical cases, including GI, diabetes, and occasional surgical or stroke-related concerns
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based care for patients with pneumonia, COPD, and complex lung conditions Manage interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate on care plans Support the respiratory step-down unit with more intensive monitoring as needed Contribute to consistent patient care in a dynamic team-driven environment
