Job Description
Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Travel Deliver specialized care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a critical illness and rehabilitation setting. As a valued healthcare professional, you will evaluate patient needs, implement treatment plans, and ensure optimal respiratory care with a focus on both intensive interventions and safe patient transport. Your expertise supports patients throughout their recovery, from admission assessments to education during discharge, all while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team.

Active Registered Respiratory Therapist license Experience providing intensive and rehabilitative respiratory care strongly preferred Ability to operate and maintain ventilatory, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices, including both invasive and non-invasive equipment Proficiency with chest physiotherapy and multiple suctioning methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal) Familiarity with oximetry, capnography, and 12-lead EKG administration and interpretation Skilled in performing pulmonary function studies (NIF, VC) and tracheostomy/airway management Competent in arterial puncture, endotracheal tube management, and ventilator set-up Current BLS and ACLS certification Strong interpersonal skills and patient education abilitiesCore Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients and develop individualized respiratory treatment plans Explain treatment procedures, purposes, and equipment to patients and families Conduct and document prescribed respiratory treatments and monitor patient responses Perform diagnostic studies and basic arrhythmia recognition Assist with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomies as appropriate Manage equipment maintenance, lab specimen handling, and quality control documentation Communicate effectively with physicians and team members, including detailed handoffs Ensure meticulous record-keeping of care provided and therapy charges Contribute to outstanding patient outcomes in a collaborative critical care environment.
