Schedule/Hours:
Travel assignment, flexible schedule
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver intensive respiratory care to patients and assist with transport as needed. Evaluate patients, recommend individualized treatment plans, and educate patients ahead of discharge. Operate and maintain a variety of ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol therapy equipment. Administer prescribed medications, humidification, and oxygenation. Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), and routine patient oximetry/capnography monitoring. Conduct chest x-ray reviews, 12-Lead EKGs, and pulmonary function studies. Assist with specialized procedures, including bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care. Perform arterial punctures and analyze efficiency of ventilation. Facilitate accurate, timely documentation and communication during shift changes. Participate in all aspects of laboratory testing and support equipment maintenance. Undertake emergency procedures, including CPR and airway management.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license BLS and ACLS certification required Previous experience in critical care or rehabilitation settings preferred Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
