1 Description American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position on a night shift schedule in Dickson, TN, requiring charge experience and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience. Details Work in a Women's Services LDRP unit with 9 LDRP beds, 1 OBED bed, 4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1 until stable; NICU 1:3 intermediate care (minimum 2 NICU nurses required in unit at all times) Procedures performed include C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries Equipment used includes CPN central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps Documentation systems: Meditech and CPN Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 shifts per week Rotating weekends and holidays required No unit secretaries or techs available on the unit Floating throughout the facility may be required; some staff are cross-trained to float between LDRP and NICU Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC accepted), NRP Advanced 9th Edition (American Academy of Pediatrics), and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring certification or NCCEFM Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required Charge nurse experience required Experience in laboring and recovering the mother, as well as receiving and transitioning the newborn including assessment Experience with inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil) and fetal monitoring required US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri) No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Responsibilities include daily and safety rounding on all patients Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies is preferred The unit is a Level II NICU and Level II Trauma facility, also holding Joint Commission and Stroke Center certifications Pink and/or brown scrubs are required per the infant security policy The unit is staffed by a highly experienced team, with several RNs holding 7-30+ years of experience who serve as strong resources and preceptors Being an LDRP unit, this role offers broad experience across labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
