Days•40 hours per week (4x10s rotating with weeks of 5x8s) $2926 weekly Up to $1500 for referrals 292484 Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Operating Room (OR) procedures to join our dynamic healthcare team at a leading medical facility. This role offers the opportunity to provide expert surgical nursing care across diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, and specialty clinics. The ideal candidate will possess extensive OR experience, demonstrate exceptional patient assessment skills, and be adaptable to various healthcare environments. As a Travel RN in the operating room, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care for patients while enjoying the flexibility of travel assignments. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers with operative procedures, including instrument handling, suturing, and maintaining sterile fields. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physiological evaluations pertinent to surgical interventions. Monitor patient status continuously during surgery, managing airway equipment such as ventilators and ensuring optimal physiological stability. Administer medications safely within scope of practice, including IV infusions and injections related to anesthesia and pain management. Document all patient care activities accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans, discharge planning, and post-operative instructions. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards throughout all procedures. Prepare operating rooms by verifying equipment functionality and sterilization processes prior to surgeries. Support emergency response efforts in trauma or Level I trauma center settings by providing critical care nursing expertise. Skills Extensive OR experience with proficiency in aseptic technique, suturing, and sterile processing protocols. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures. Ability to perform patient assessments swiftly and accurately under pressure. Experience working in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, outpatient surgery centers, or trauma centers. Competence in managing airway devices like ventilators and performing IV insertions or catheterizations as needed. Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing standards. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with surgical teams and patients. Ability to adapt quickly to different hospital policies and procedural workflows across multiple healthcare settings.
