This position provides a unique opportunity to broaden your surgical expertise by working alongside multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity Adult Cardiac OR. You'll expand your clinical repertoire as you care for patients ranging from those undergoing urgent procedures (CABG's, TAVI's) to advanced heart failure management (VAD's, ECMO, artificial heart, and transplants). Schedule:
Travel assignment, full-time commitment
Professional Requirements:
NBSTSA Certification, or a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician At least 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac OR setting Competence in both the scrub and circulate roles Valid BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for complex surgical procedures Assist the surgical team from the scrub position throughout operations Properly care for and handle instruments; facilitate efficient room turnover between cases Rigorously maintain sterile technique, safe sharps handling, and accurate surgical counts per policy Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under RN supervision
