You'll expand your clinical repertoire as you care for patients ranging from those undergoing urgent procedures (CABG's, TAVI's) to advanced heart failure management (VAD's, ECMO, artificial heart, and transplants). Professional Requirements:

NBSTSA Certification, or a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician At least 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac OR setting Competence in both the scrub and circulate roles Valid BLS certification (American Heart Association only)

Core Responsibilities:

Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for complex surgical procedures Assist the surgical team from the scrub position throughout operations Properly care for and handle instruments; facilitate efficient room turnover between cases Rigorously maintain sterile technique, safe sharps handling, and accurate surgical counts per policy Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under RN supervision
