Key Responsibilities:
Assist during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and providing necessary instrumentation Expertly maintain and inspect sterile fields and surgical tools, monitoring for potential breaches and initiating corrective actions under RN supervision Demonstrate proficiency in AORN standards, maintaining operating room safety and equipment functionality Participate fully in Time Out processes, including briefings and debriefings for optimal patient safety Contribute to the individualized, ongoing delivery of care, remaining flexible within scope of practice Support patient transports, room turnovers, and preparation for surgical cases Stay current in new technologies, equipment, and procedures, modeling professional behavior and communication Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization Follow HIPAA compliance and Just Culture principles Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or Colorado Surgical Technologist License required Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Strong proficiency with English and ability to use computer systems for job requirements within 90 days Experienced in the care of all age populations, from neonatal to geriatric
