Requirements:
Current certification or qualification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as RID, EIPA, or state equivalent) Previous experience interpreting in educational settings preferred Strong ASL proficiency and the ability to adapt to various communication needs Professional, reliable, and collaborative approach to working with students and school faculty
Responsibilities:
Facilitate effective communication between students with hearing impairments and teachers, peers, and staff Interpret classroom instruction, school events, and extracurricular activities Adjust interpreting strategies to meet individual student needs Maintain confidentiality and comply with ethical interpreting standards Document interactions and communicate regularly with educational team members
