With a full-time role structured as four 10-hour shifts weekly, this position offers the flexibility to explore the northern wilderness and local culture during your downtime. On-call, weekend, and holiday shifts are rotated as needed, providing both consistency and the excitement of variable schedules.
Key Qualifications:
National CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in operating room technology Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile field management Commitment to anticipating surgical needs and supporting team members Willingness to float as needed within perioperative services
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare surgical suites and organize case carts with necessary instruments and supplies Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on surgical equipment, coordinating with biomedical staff as needed Maintain high standards of aseptic and sterile technique throughout procedures Assist surgeons by passing instruments, retracting tissue, and operating equipment Maintain readiness and competency across a wide array of surgical specialties
