Position Summary Elder Corporation is seeking a motivated and experienced Traveling Foreman to lead field crews on heavy civil construction projects throughout the Midwest. This position is responsible for overseeing daily job site operations, coordinating crews and equipment, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company quality standards. The Traveling Foreman serves as the on-site leader and primary point of contact between field employees, subcontractors, and project management. They will lead crews on earthmoving, underground utility, grading, and demolition projects throughout the Midwest. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and the flexibility to adapt to changing job site conditions while maintaining a positive and productive work environment. This position requires travel and overnight stays based on project location and scheduling needs.   • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of field crews and subcontractors
  • Plan and organize work to meet project schedules and production goals
  • Operate and oversee heavy equipment operations when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safe work practices
  • Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and utility drawings
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower needs with project management
  • Monitor job site productivity and quality of work
  • Identify and resolve job site issues in a timely manner
  • Train and mentor crew members to support employee growth and development
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping, and project documentation
  • Communicate professionally with customers, inspectors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Foreman or Crew Lead in heavy civil construction preferred
  • Experience with earthmoving, underground utilities, demolition, grading, or site development projects preferred
  • Ability to lead crews in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Working knowledge of heavy equipment and construction methods
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours as project demands require
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Comfortable working in trenches and around heavy equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
