Job Description The Team:
The TRP Diagnostic & Prognostic team develops data-driven diagnostics, prognostic algorithms, and pre-emptive monitors that help GM identify potential vehicle issues in EV battery systems, so problems can be investigated and addressed before they become broader field or customer issues. While working cross functionally within a scrum, the team uses connected-vehicle data and diagnostic insights to improve vehicle quality, support early issue detection, and enable targeted engineering actions across the vehicle lifecycle.
The Role:
This position will support development of diagnostics and prognostics related to thermal runaway propagation in HV Battery systems on GM vehicles. The selected candidate will run tests, analyze data, and develop calibrations that ensure feature/diagnostic functionality and software robustness. Successful candidates will utilize system hardware/software troubleshooting skills to work with their designated scrum to develop and test calibrations for TRP related features and diagnostics. Candidates will need to work closely with the controls, software, and test engineers in their scrum to develop solutions and resolve issues. What You'll Do (Responsibilities): Release calibrations for HV battery diagnostics and prognostics. Develop tests to exercise and verify the robustness of TRP diagnostic and prognostic algorithms. Organize, plan, and coordinate testing activities with Lead Calibrator and Technical Specialist. Utilize tools to engineer, execute, and automate tests in SIL/HIL/vehicle environments. Support identification of testing resource requirements. Participate in SW scrum and support development of algorithm. Participate in development trips and related test activities as needed. Diagnose and correct vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies. Support resolution of vehicle, plant, lab, or customer issues. Work with field service engineers and OnStar reps to troubleshoot vehicles. Review data and make decisions regarding disposition of vehicle hardware. Interpret data and communicate to the teardown teams regarding details of specific VIN/BINs. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline. 1+ years of post-graduation engineering experience. Independent worker requiring little direction and works well in a team environment. Excellent planner and complex problem solver. High level of oral and written communication skills. Experience with data acquisition and analysis. Knowledge of and passion for electrification propulsion system architectures. What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline. 3 years of post-graduation engineering experience. Software, Controls and/or calibration experience. SIL and/or HIL experience. Experience with tools commonly used in software and calibration: INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, Matlab/Simulink, Jira, Python. #
