TRUCK EQUIPMENT INSTALLER/UPFITTER

Responsibilities:

Places large truck equipment components in place as specified. Reads computer job orders, and job specifications and lays out plans for work procedures. Operates shop machines. Installs units such as welds, electrical components, bolts, and hydraulics on various areas of the truck. Drives commercial vehicles in and out of the shop as well as test-drives said vehicles as needed. Modify equipment, attachments, hydraulic systems, and other devices according to blueprints. Troubleshoots for repairs. Performs function tests when finished.

Qualification:

Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and execute instructions as found on blueprints. Ability to perform basic math. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Welding experience is a plus, not required. Mechanical experience is a plus.
