Cleanliness and professional appearances. Willing to learn new tasks. Polite, respectful, and honest- with our club members and team members. Required usage of some personal protective equipment, such as gloves, earplugs, eye guards, and close toed shoes Safe operation of equipment

Preferred:

High School. Six months experience in golf grounds or landscape maintenance preferred.

Turf Technicians are responsible for daily maintenance and upkeep of the Golf Course and Grounds. Turf Technicians will report directly to the Grounds Superintendent, 1st Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent and Landscape Superintendent.

Job Duties:

Adheres to the Gasparilla Inn and Club's 4 Steps to Memorable Service. Exhibit's the Gasparilla Inn's Core Values. Raking Bunkers Debris clean-up/ removal Maintain landscape beds Prepare and install sod Attend daily staff meetings Empty trash containers Loads and unloads materials Rake and blow leaves Trim around shrubs, trees, bunkers, etc. Dig holes and trenches to maintain and/or construct drainage Aid in irrigation troubleshooting and repair Aid in spray and paint applications as directed by supervisors Rolling greens Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent and other immediate supervisors. Frequent lifting (70 lbs or more), bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling Frequent repetitive motions Continuous standing and walking Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat. The noise level of equipment is usually moderate to loud All other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Assignments:

This position is both an administrative and active position and will require equipment to be moved weighing up to approximately 70 pounds. This position may be exposed to hazards such as adverse weather conditions, loud noise, frequent and extra working hours due to demands of events, and other related factors such as upset guests if something does not goes as originally planned. You must be comfortable with water safety and be able to respond to water safety events on tours, which could potentially become high stress situations. This position is also required to work events during weekend hours, and nights as determined by event needs.
