Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact as a dedicated instructor specializing in education for visually impaired students! This contract opportunity offers full-time hours (37.5-40 per week) with the flexibility of working across multiple sites within a vibrant educational community near Eugene, OR. Candidates will find themselves supporting student growth and collaborating with school staff as part of this pivotal role.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or Visually Impaired Teacher Strong background in adapting curriculum and instructional techniques for students with visual impairments Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Willingness and ability to travel to different school locations within the district Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit Commitment to upholding the dignity and independence of all students
Your Role Will Include:
Providing specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with their IEPs Consulting and collaborating with general education teachers and staff on accommodations and accessibility practices Assessing student needs and assisting with the selection and use of adaptive technology and materials Facilitating skill development in braille, orientation and mobility, and independent living Documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records as required Participating in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities This position provides a meaningful chance to work directly with students in diverse settings—no remote or hybrid options are available.
