Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to a rewarding contract opportunity just outside Pittsburgh. This is an outstanding chance to support students and make a meaningful difference in their educational journey. You'll work closely with school teams and families to provide specialized instruction and orientation and mobility services.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience providing orientation and mobility training, or relevant certification Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to empowering students with visual impairments to reach their fullest potential Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic school environments Previous experience in school settings is highly valued
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and support for students with visual impairments Assess students' needs and develop appropriate educational and mobility plans Implement orientation and mobility training to help students navigate their environment safely and independently Work directly with students, educators, and families to develop and meet educational goals Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress reports Stay current on best practices and educational strategies for the visually impaired Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to educational planning By stepping into this vital role, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students and make a real impact in their daily lives.
