Job Description

We are seeking our next Part-Time Proctor Specialist - Science Enrichment Center who will be all-in on our mission and who is responsible for administering and monitoring academic testing for science students in a secure, non-classroom setting. This role ensures exam integrity, supports students in receiving appropriate accommodations, and collaborates with faculty and college staff to maintain a smooth and organized testing environment.

Experience in a customer service-oriented role.Preferred:
Experience working in a testing center or academic setting. Administer and proctor exams in compliance with testing policies and procedures. Monitor students during exams to ensure adherence to testing accommodations and security protocols. Maintain strict exam security before, during, and after testing sessions. Manage test schedules, process proctoring requests, and coordinate with faculty regarding testing arrangements. Document and report any testing irregularities, misconduct, or security breaches to the supervisor. Prepare exams for administration and ensure proper return to faculty upon completion. Maintain accurate and confidential records of testing activities. Provide professional and courteous assistance to students, faculty, and staff. Collect and verify test schedule forms and required documentation for testing appointments. Oversee student use of computers and graphing calculators for exams. Train and mentor newly hired student workers. Assist in developing training materials and manuals for student workers. Participate in department meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities. Perform other work-related duties as required. Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position. Pay grade 5 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies up to 50 pounds, as needed. Must be able to sometimes sit or stand for long periods of time.Working Environment:
This is a part time position not to exceed 19 hours per week. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary).
