Position Summary The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing technical duties utilizing Ultrasound imaging equipment and supplies to obtain satisfactory imaging for exams and procedures performed on patients of all ages. The Ultrasound Technologic is also responsible for performing clerical duties specific to all areas of the Imaging Services Department. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

• Utilizes all electronic systems effectively and appropriately.
• Assists with clerical duties.
• Demonstrates the required technical knowledge to perform quality imaging for all Ultrasound exams and procedures while providing quality patient care and safety.
• Performs quality Ultrasound imaging appropriate to patients of all ages and conditions.
• Assures appropriate patient identification is performed and indication and history for exam is documented.
• Ensures patient and family education is accomplished as appropriate and according to department policies.
• Ability to be at work and be on time.
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.
• Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Minimum of 1-year acute care hospital experience or equivalent.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Current R.D.M.S./eligible (must pass boards [abdomen, OB/Gyn, and physics] within 12 months of hire).
• Current BCLS card required.
• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program, preferred.
