Job Description
Avon Place is currently seeking a Unit Manager to join our team! Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Unit Manager to assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily clinical operations of our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. The Unit Manager will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Duties Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care. Oversee medical documentation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Implement and monitor infection control protocols within the unit. Manage behavioral health needs, including memory care strategies for patients. Conduct regular assessments of patient vital signs and overall health status. Facilitate training for staff on IV insertion techniques and other critical care procedures. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans. Address any concerns regarding patient care or staff performance promptly. Requirements Proven experience in a healthcare management role, preferably in a nursing or clinical setting. Strong knowledge of medical documentation standards and practices. Familiarity with memory care techniques. Experience with infection control measures. Proficiency in performing vital sign assessments and IV insertions is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating strong leadership capabilities. A valid nursing license or relevant certification is required.
