Upper Elementary Math & Science Teacher (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Sierra Foothill Charter School is a small rural public charter school in beautiful Catheys Valley, California, near Yosemite National Park . We emphasize place-based education and project-based learning, using our natural surroundings and local community as an extension of the classroom. SFCS offers educators the opportunity to teach in a close-knit school community surrounded by extraordinary beauty, outdoor learning opportunities, and a deep sense of place. We are seeking a dedicated and innovative 5th-8th Grade Math and Science Teacher to join our team. This educator will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in mathematics and science while fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Our lower elementary, upper elementary, and middle school teachers lead multiage, multilevel classrooms (exact classroom combinations will depend on final enrollment). The teachers are responsible for daily execution of Sierra Foothill Charter School's educational vision, curriculum and the ongoing collaboration with colleagues and community partners to serve that vision. Students will be involved in cross‐curricular, place‐based and service‐learning projects throughout the year. Teachers must be capable of planning, organizing and leading these experiences. These positions offer a rare opportunity to assist in the ongoing design and implementation of a program that strives to create self‐motivated, competent and lifelong learners.
