This role is essential in delivering high-quality food service and ensuring that our child development center kitchen runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of food preparation, menu planning, and OSHA food handling and preparation. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to state, safety, and nutritional requirements on a monthly basis. Maintains CACFP Food Production Records. Handle food preparation tasks, including preparing and portioning sufficient amount of food items for each classroom. Deliver all meals and snacks to classrooms. Collaborate with management to ensure dietary restrictions and food allergies are known and adhered to. Maintains, stocks, and keeps track of kitchen inventory including food items, paper goods, and cleaning supplies. Maintains a sanitary kitchen environment to include food preparation area and orderly maintenance of supplies at all times. Ensures all leftover and unused food products are stored, restocked, or disposed of properly. Examines, labels, and stores incoming food supplies in storage and refrigeration areas properly. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean kitchen environment. Ensures kitchen appliances and equipment have been cleaned and turned off at the end of each workday. Place clean dishes, utensils, and pots in proper locations. Removes garbage and grease from kitchen areas and dispenses in appropriate areas. Sweep and mop the kitchen area at the end of each shift. Perform other related duties as assigned which may include assisting in classrooms. Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment. Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting. A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality meals.
