Position Information Position Title Director, DCHP Computing Services Requisition Number S02351P Position Category Staff Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 40 Months per year 12 Alternate work schedule Pay Grade E33 Salary FLSA Exempt Job Summary/Basic Function The individual occupying this position manages a wide range computer and related technology systems for the Dumke College of Health Professions. The individual reports directly to the Dean or Associate Dean and is responsible for managing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and related activities of computers, software and network support for the College. The individual also supervises college IT specialists and the work of other technology-related activities in the College.
The individual does the following:
maintains a software library, provides and installs software upgrades, maintain logs of maintenance schedules. acts as the liaison between other computing resources both on and off campus. maintains the College computer life cycle and replacement plan reviews and approves all computer and computer-related purchases for the College helps in training and supporting the faculty and staff in the use of college IT and classroom technology manages several college servers including a server that supports the dental clinic and contains confidential patient records. Also servers used for online teaching and instruction understands and ensures that the servers conform to government security standards such as HIPAA and FERPA and that the University security and operating policies are adhered to implements policies and practices to keep the servers available and secure serves as data security steward for the Dumke College of Health Professions and coordinates with the University's Security officers to help ensure that the University's security objectives and policies are complied with develops and maintain a College Technology Master Plan integrating the departmental technology needs and goals with those of the College of Health Professions works with the University's technology committees, integrate the College master plan with the goals and objectives of the University.
Required Qualifications Required:
A bachelor's degree in a related area is required 3 years of related experience that includes supervisory experience A systems engineer certificate or equivalent training and demonstrated ability to use the skills obtained in such education
Preferred Qualifications Preferred:
Experience working with people in stressful situations while resolving their computer hardware, software, operations and networking problems A firm understanding of computer hardware, software, network, Internet and external design and operation The ability to deal effectively with people under stressful conditions An understanding of Information Security practices in higher education Experience with administering Windows servers The ability to supervise others in similar technical roles is also important Experience in management both Windows and Mac computers Familiarity with classroom audio visual systems in Health Professions specific systems A successful candidate will be willing to Background Check?
