SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The Landscaper/Facility Clean-Up is responsible for all yard facility clean-up and the cultivation and care of the business grounds and assigned employee housing grounds. Ensuring and maintaining the condition and appearance of the houses, trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns. Keeping the grounds free of debris and harmful insects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for machinery and equipment on the yard including but not limited to, zero-turn, blower, weed eater, pressure washers, etc. Daily lawn care and maintenance of the mill grounds and assigned housing to include mowing, watering, raking, weeding, trimming, and blowing leaves. Collection and disposal of stray trash, debris, and waste on a daily basis. Participate in maintenance duties such as cleaning walkways and parking lots, painting, and other duties. Planting of new decorative bushes, flowers, plants, and shrubs. Operate machinery, or other equipment as required. Understand basic machine components and operation. Communicate directly with supervisor on a daily basis. Participate in action planning process. All other duties assigned by supervisor and management.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer 6+ months work experience in a similar position. Proficient knowledge of maintaining lawns, and grounds. Knowledge of how to properly use yard machinery and equipment. Possess adequate fitness and stamina in order to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks. Understand and follow oral or written instructions issued by supervisor or management. Able to clearly explain problems or give instructions to others involved in keeping operations running smoothly. Able to perform the job with little to no supervision. Arrive on time and stay on task in order to contribute to better output and reaching production goals. Able to work well in an industrial environment, and as part of a team. Excellent problem solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work a 12 hour shift Perform tasks such as walking, climbing, or standing for long periods of time Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs Must be comfortable working around loud equipment Ability to work outside in all weather conditions Able to work while in a harness at heights over 4 feet Able to lift 50 lbs throughout work shift SAFETY Must be able to follow all safety rules and regulations Wear all required personal protective equipment, i.e., hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and reflective wear Report immediately all accidents, near-misses, property damage, equipment damage, or unsafe conditions Use proper lifting technique at all times
