Full Salary Range for this nonexempt position is $41,212 - $56,856 Target hiring range is $19.81 - $20.53 per hour (DOQ) Are you passionate about serving the public and making a difference in your community?   • A supportive workplace culture focused on growth and service Position Summary The Utility Billing Specialist is responsible for accurately processing utility bills, maintaining customer accounts, and providing outstanding customer service related to utility billing inquiries and concerns.
This position plays an important role in ensuring efficient operations and positive interactions with residents and customers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Process utility bills accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update customer account information
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account issues
  • Resolve billing discrepancies professionally and efficiently
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure billing accuracy
  • Generate billing reports and assist with financial analysis as needed
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and electronically
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling financial and customer information
Qualifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in billing, accounting, customer service, or financial services
  • Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
