Utility Production Steel worker

Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Utility Production Steel Worker, where your skills will drive the creation of high-quality steel components essential to various industries. As a key player in our production process, you will be instrumental in transforming raw materials into precise, finished steel products that meet rigorous quality standards. Duties Operate and monitor a variety of manufacturing equipment including CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and welding stations to shape and fabricate sheet metal and steel components. Use forklifts and cranes to move raw materials, finished products, and tooling safely around the facility. Read blueprints and technical drawings accurately to ensure precise fabrication and assembly of parts. Perform quality inspections utilizing micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications. Assist with tooling setup, adjustments, and maintenance to optimize machine performance. Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, tolerances, and material quantities during fabrication processes. Follow safety protocols diligently while handling electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC programming tasks, and other specialized manufacturing operations. Support assembly processes by fitting parts together according to specifications and ensuring proper alignment using hand tools and mechanical knowledge. Qualifications Proven experience operating manufacturing machinery such as CNC laser cutting systems, plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC mills/lathes, stamping presses, or welding equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Familiarity with tooling setup, calibration, and maintenance of CNC machines and fabrication tools. Ability to use hand tools like calipers, micrometers, hand wrenches, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques including plasma cutting and stamping processes. Experience with forklift operation and crane safety procedures is preferred. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control checks.
