Lenawee Christian Ministries provides Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ. The ministry is made up of two operating entities: Lenawee Christian School and the Christian Family Centre, located in Adrian, MI. Lenawee Christian School exists in partnership with the family and church to integrate Biblical truth for life with a commitment to glorifying Jesus Christ through academic excellence and spiritual maturity. The Christian Family Centre is a world-class fitness and family activity facility that strives to assist families and individuals grow in their physical, social, and spiritual wellness with Jesus Christ being the center.POSITION SUMMARY.
The Varsity Football Head Coach provides spiritual, strategic, and operational leadership for the Lenawee Christian School football program. This role is responsible for developing student-athletes physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually while building a Christ-centered football culture that reflects the mission and values of Lenawee Christian School. The Head Coach oversees all aspects of the football program, including program development, coaching leadership, athlete development, practice and game management, offseason programming, and community engagement. The Coach is expected to lead with integrity, excellence, servant leadership, and a commitment to the holistic development of student athletes.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
Program Leadership & Vision Provide overall leadership, vision, and direction for the football program. Establish and maintain a Christ-centered program culture aligned with the mission and values of Lenawee Christian School. Develop and implement a long-term program philosophy that promotes athletic excellence, character development, teamwork, accountability, and spiritual growth. Foster alignment and continuity across Varsity, JV, and Middle School football programs. Coaching & Athlete Development Plan, organize, and lead practices focused on skill development, conditioning, strategy, and player safety. Teach proper football fundamentals, techniques, and game concepts appropriate to student-athlete development. Promote discipline, sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork. Support the academic success and personal development of student-athletes. Game Preparation & Competition Develop and implement competitive game strategies and opponent preparation. Oversee game management, player assignments, and in-game coaching decisions. Prepare athletes mentally and physically for competition while modeling professionalism and sportsmanship. Staff Leadership & Program Management Recruit, develop, supervise, and mentor assistant coaches and volunteer staff. Establish clear expectations and accountability for coaching staff. Coordinate offseason development opportunities, including: Strength and conditioning Camps and clinics Summer workouts Open field sessions Manage equipment, uniforms, inventory, and program resources responsibly. Communication & Relationship Building Maintain effective and professional communication with students, parents, administration, officials, and community members. Represent Lenawee Christian School positively within the conference, community, and athletic associations. Foster strong relationships with families and support a positive athletic experience for all participants. Player Safety & Compliance Promote athlete health, wellness, and safety at all times.Ensure compliance with:
MHSAA regulations School policies and procedures Athletic department expectations Monitor proper supervision and safe participation practices. Mission Integration Model Christ-centered leadership, integrity, and servant-heartedness in all interactions. Integrate Biblical principles, devotionals, mentorship, and faith development into the football program. Encourage student-athletes to grow spiritually and use their gifts and influence for God's glory.QUALIFICATIONS.
Christian Faith & Character Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Exhibit a consistent Christian testimony and adherence to biblical principles in personal and professional life. Demonstrate spiritual maturity, humility, and a strong commitment to excellence and servant leadership Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous football coaching experience required; varsity head coaching experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop student-athletes and coaching staff. Certifications CPR/First Aid/AED certification required (or ability to obtain prior to season start). Completion of the MHSAA Coaches Advancement Program (CAP) and any other required MHSAA coaching certifications and trainings. Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of football strategy, player development, and program management. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Ability to mentor and disciple student-athletes in a Christ-centered environment. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and responsibilities during the athletic season.EMPLOYMENT TERMS.
This position is classified as seasonal, exempt and is honorarium-based, following the football season calendar, including offseason responsibilities. Compensation is provided as a stipend (honorarium) and is not based on hourly wages.The role requires availability for:
Practices and games Summer and offseason programming Team meetings and athletic events Evening and weekend responsibilities Employment is at-will and contingent upon: Successful completion of background screening Compliance with school policies and athletic requirements Adherence to the Ministry's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Commitment.EMPLOYMENT STATEMENT.
