35-40 Previous experience preferred. We are a small animal hospital looking to add a new member to our team! The ideal candidate would be professional in person and via phone, have the ability to multi-task in a stressful environment, and be an overall team player. As a veterinary assistant, duties include but are not limited to: working closely with clients and in- hospital patients, keeping a clean and sterile environment, filling prescriptions and being able to confidently explain medications, going over financial estimates, administering vaccines, explaining preventatives and vaccine protocol, general hospital clean up and helping our team deliver the best customer service possible. Other duties that you will perform will be scheduling appointments, taking payments, and operating a multi-line phone system. You must also be comfortable interacting with clients, following directions and work well in a fast paced environment. The following skills and abilities are required: Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 lbs or more. Must have the ability to obtain relevant information and a patient history from clients to maintain proper and complete medical charts. Communicating with clients about their pet's health concerns, treatment options, preventive care, and medications. Communicating with the doctor and other staff members Must be confident always using safe restraining techniques on both cats and dogs. Maintain a clean, sterile and organized treatment area- including exam rooms and surgical ward. You will be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, and biological hazards. Assisting the doctor with treatments, including surgical procedures, monitoring patients while they're under anesthesia, and recording patient's vitals.
