Veterinary Assistant -- Join Our Energetic, Animal-Loving Crew! We're a thriving animal hospital in Sequim, WA that cares for dogs, cats, exotics, reptiles, avians, and pocket pets -- and we're looking for a Veterinary Assistant who's just as versatile as the patients we serve!

Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and ensuring a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring accurate dosage and proper handling of pharmaceuticals. Maintain knowledge of veterinary terminology to effectively communicate with the veterinary team and pet owners. Handle dogs and other animals safely and humanely, ensuring their comfort during visits. Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring all areas are organized. Empathetic and professional client communication. Requirements Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology is advantageous. Ability to demonstrate effective animal handling skills, particularly with dogs of various sizes and temperaments. Knowledge of medication administration protocols is essential for this role. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. A commitment to providing compassionate care for animals in a clinical setting. Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary practices and procedures.
