Veterinary Technician

Elk Valley Veterinary Hospital is a full service animal hospital providing comprehensive healthcare services to pets. We are a fast paced mixed practice that sees both small and large animals. Our Veterinarians offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, and dental services to our patients. We are seeking an individual with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, compassion, strong computer skills, the ability to multi-task, and be dedicated to their profession. The individual must be TEAM oriented, highly motivated, take direction well, and be able to work evening and weekend shifts. Moderate lifting and the ability to move efficiently is necessary. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting veterinarians with patient appointments and in the care of patients Recording patient medical history electronically Drawing blood and perform testing Filling Prescriptions Prepping patients for surgery Anesthesia monitoring Cleaning the kennel and caring for boarding / hospitalized patients Entering client charges into the computer Answering telephones Scheduling appointments Educating clients on disease and parasite prevention Maintaining a clean and organized work environment Pay wage will be based on level of experience with benefits included.
