Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, along with the ability to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. This role requires a passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals, including monitoring vital signs and administering treatments Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventative health measures Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including maintaining an aseptic environment Provide support in kennel duties, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals Requirements Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience preferred; kennel experience is a plus Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to animal dental care Experience in veterinary critical care or laboratory settings is advantageous Proficiency in animal catheterization techniques and animal restraint methods Ability to handle various breeds of dogs safely; equine experience is a bonus Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and pet owners Commitment to providing high-quality pet care with compassion and empathy We invite qualified candidates who are passionate about animal health to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
