Job Description

Job Overview As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the care and well-being of animals in our facility. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing high-quality care to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats. You will assist with daily operations, ensuring that all animals are healthy, safe, and comfortable while also supporting the veterinary team as needed, and keeping the clinic presentable at all times. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Assist with medication administration and basic medical procedures under supervision. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments. Support front desk operations by greeting clients and managing appointments when necessary. Participate in training programs to enhance skills related to animal handling and care. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and animal welfare regulations. Requirements Previous experience in a kennel or veterinary clinic setting is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of animal physiology and behavior is advantageous. Ability to handle various breeds of dogs and cats with confidence and care. Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members. A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent care. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
