Jobs › Mansfield, MA › Vocational Instructor (C) State of Massachusetts Vocational Instructor (C) Mansfield, MA Apply The Department of Developmental Services is looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Vocational Instructor C (Voc C) to provide consultation and guidance to the Vocational Instructors A/B. The Voc C will assist with practices and procedures that will maximize the potential of the individuals they support. The ideal candidate encourages and implements department directives, displays a positive attitude, and motivates others to work as a team. Ensures that operations at the program are followed and that adherence to scheduled activities and rules of the workplace are followed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive.) Ensure the supported individuals are successfully engaged in meaningful activities to meet their individual, vocational, and day program goals.- Responsible for program development based on assessment results and Individual Service Plans (ISP), work directly with individuals ' complete data on production.
- Facilitate and lead groups, both on and off-site ensuring safety, community integration, and active job coaching including production outcomes at the redemption centers, and off site at employment locations.
- Supervise and train individuals with developmental disabilities in the Commonwealth Enterprise's Program.
- Provide consultation and guidance to Vocational Instructor NB workers to maximize each person ' s potential.
- Assigned a caseload to ensure progress toward goals are documented.
- Assist and work with individuals to ensure work is completed.
- Follow clinical program specific to the individual.
- Provide transportation to individuals to and from work sites.
- Responsible for reconciliation of business funds, open & closing procedures, banking activities, operate cash register, and wait on customers.
- Ensure compliance with the Department of Labor regulations, employer standards, Agency policies and Federal and State Regulations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and pleasant work environment and perform other related duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Develop and maintain a respectful, caring, ethical, and empowering relationship with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Capability to assist/lift individuals with physical disabilities and/or limited mobility.
Special Requirements:
- After successfully completing a training program, the selected candidate must acquire and maintain; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid (FA) certification.

- Full-time
- 40-hour weekly position
- 1st shift (Day Shift)
- Tuesday
- Saturday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm

At least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in vocational or industrial training or vocational or industrial instruction.SUBSTITIONS
- A Bachelor's or higher degree in industrial arts or vocational education may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
- One year of education equals 30 semester hours.
- Title 101 CMR 23.
