The position of the Volunteer Engagement and Partner Resources Specialist will support and expand our agency partnerships and volunteer engagement efforts. This role is responsible for recruiting and training volunteers, coordinating volunteer events, maintaining partner relationships, and supporting the College Corps fellowship program.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Volunteer Coordination & Community Engagement:
Recruit, schedule, and coordinate individual and group volunteers to support the Food Bank's network of partner agencies. Build strong relationships with volunteers and motivate them to continue engaging with the Food Bank and agency network by ensuring that they have a positive experience. Supports volunteer recognition strategy, ensuring year-round appreciation initiatives that increase retention and engagement. Lead, train, orient, and supervise volunteers at on-site and off-site events, such as drive-through, pop-up, and walk-up food distributions. Attend recruiting events within the community and perform community outreach to increase volunteer participation. Conduct site visits to review partner volunteer operations, develop partner relationships, and monitor for compliance with applicable policies.Program Administration & Operational Support:
Provides programmatic and administrative support for the #CaliforniansForAll College Corps program. Maintain volunteer management systems and databases to track and report volunteer activities, such as hours completed, name of project or program, etc. Support the Volunteer Director in designing and implementing new initiatives and special projects to strengthen volunteer impact. Respond to telephone, voicemail, written, and e-mail inquiries. Assist with special projects and events. Performs other such duties and projects as assigned by department leadership. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs.Communication & Workplace Effectiveness:

The individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properQUALIFICATIONS
Prefer 2 years' College-level course work completed. Experience in volunteer recruitment or event management desired. 1-2 years experience with Social Service Agency preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires strong multitasking skills, excellent time management, and self-starter mentality. Great public speaking, oral and written skills. Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy. Demonstrated capability to conduct one's self in a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with the public and/or with difficult situations. Must be resourceful and possess good analytical skills with the ability to think creatively to solve problems. Proficient skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google platform (Google Docs, etc.). Ability to work productively in an environment with frequent interruption. Ability to properly handle confidential information. Conducts self in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner during all interactions. Works effectively and collaboratively with others towards common goals. Presents a professional appearance and demeanor. Regularly walk volunteers to different locations around the Food Bank throughout the day. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift up to 35 pounds. Communicates accurately, honestly, supportively and in a timely manner with department and interdepartmental team members. Demonstrates strong planning, organizing, time management, and interpersonal skills. Flexible to occasionally work early-morning and evening hours. Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job. Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers. Bilingual, English/Spanish or other languages preferred, but not required. Communicates accurately, honestly, supportively and in a timely manner with external stakeholders and department and interdepartmental team members. Demonstrates strong planning, organizing, time management, and interpersonal skills.
