We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing athletes both on and off the court—someone who can teach skills, build confidence, and foster a positive team culture. This role is ideal for individuals who love the sport, enjoy mentoring youth athletes, and want to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, community‑driven environment. Overview The Volleyball Coach will lead training sessions, support athlete development, and help players build strong fundamentals, teamwork, and competitive readiness. You will work with athletes of varying ages and skill levels, creating an inclusive and encouraging environment where every player can grow. This paid position offers the opportunity to shape young athletes, strengthen your coaching expertise, and contribute to the mission of Viking Volleyball Club. Key Responsibilities Lead Training Sessions — Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and game strategy. Develop Athlete Skills — Teach proper techniques in serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and defensive systems. Create Individual Development Plans — Support athletes with personalized feedback and growth goals. Foster Team Culture — Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive learning environment. Mentor Athletes — Encourage confidence, resilience, and leadership on and off the court. Collaborate With Staff — Work with club directors, assistant coaches, and families to ensure consistent communication and athlete progress. Coach at Tournaments — Lead teams during competitions, manage rotations, and provide real‑time strategic adjustments. Qualifications Experience playing or coaching volleyball (club, high school, collegiate, or recreational). Strong understanding of volleyball rules, techniques, and game strategy. Ability to teach and motivate athletes of diverse ages and skill levels. Excellent communication and leadership skills. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Prior experience mentoring youth or coaching athletes is highly preferred. Background in education, training, or youth development is a plus.
