Job Description:
Assist the head coach in the managing and coaching of the University's team. Recruit student-athletes per NCAA Division I regulations and academic standards, as well as University academic requirements. Communicate regularly with Head Coach concerning admissions, eligibility, recruiting, and any other procedures relating to the sport. Assist in planning and coordinating in-season and out-of-season practices, including individual skill instruction and team workouts, focusing on developing athletic skills to compete at the Division I level. Assist in the planning and implementing game plans for each game, including the development of scouting reports of opponents. Monitor the academic progress of the baseball student-athletes. Effectively communicate with Athletics Academic Advisor to ensure any academic concerns are being addressed. Promote a culture of inclusion, working effectively within a culture of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations. Assist in scheduling games as directed by the Head Coach. Participate in fundraising activities for the baseball program (camps/showcases) and/or Department of Athletics. Assist with taking care of the field; this includes cutting/trimming grass, keeping the area manicured, and other assistance with the field. Abide by and comply with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the Department of Athletics and University. Contribute to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Collegiate or professional playing experience. Working knowledge of NCAA Division I Rules and Regulations governing recruitment, eligibility, and related functions. Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community.
