- Severna Park United Methodist Church 731 Benfield Rd, Severna Park, MD 21146 June 29-July 3 July 6-10 Ashton/Highland
- Mt. Zion United Methodist Church 12430 Scaggsville Rd, Highland, MD 20777 July 20-24 Baltimore
- Mount Saint Joseph High School 4403 Frederick Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229 July 27-31
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 4:00
PM About STEM Space:
STEM Space is a Maryland nonprofit focused on hands-on STEM and technology education through robotics, engineering, maker activities, coding, design, and project-based learning. Our camps emphasize creativity, teamwork, resilience, and real-world problem solving in a small-group learning environment. About theRole:
Volunteer Counselors support campers during hands-on STEM activities while helping create a positive, safe, and engaging camp environment. Volunteers work directly with instructors and students throughout the day and play an important role in supporting both technical activities and camper engagement. This role is a great fit for students interested in: STEM education Engineering Robotics Teaching or mentoring Maker education Youth leadershipPreferred Backgrounds:
We especially value applicants with experience in: FIRST Robotics (FLL, FTC, FRC) PLTW Robotics teams and STEM clubs Summer camps or youth programs Engineering, programming, or technical courseworkResponsibilities:
Support campers during STEM and engineering activities Assist instructors with setup, cleanup, and classroom support Encourage teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving Help maintain a positive and inclusive environment Serve as a positive role model for younger studentsBenefits:

Must be at least 15 years old Must be reliable, positive, and comfortable working with younger students Interest in STEM and hands-on learning CPR/First Aid certification is a plus, but not required Volunteers age 18+ may be required to complete a background checkCompensation:
This is an unpaid volunteer position intended for students seeking leadership, mentoring, service-learning, and STEM education experience. Limited performance-based stipends may occasionally be available for select volunteers based on program needs, responsibilities, experience, age, and overall contribution. Stipends are not guaranteed and should not be expected as part of this role. Outstanding volunteers may also be considered for future paid instructional opportunities, internships, and leadership roles with STEM Space as our organization continues to grow.Learn More:
