Job description:
Provides daily care for hens, collaborating with team members to maintain optimal flock health, and ensure high standards of animal welfare. Ensures the hens' daily needs are met by working collaboratively to promote optimal health and minimize mortality.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Walks the hen houses for feed, water, and temperature. 2. Gathers eggs by hand or using a packer, putting eggs onto flats, and stacking flats into pallets. 3. Runs the feed cart and checks for mortality. 4. Cleans the egg room and hen house daily. 5. Assists maintenance by checking the fans, belts, and condition of the houses and notifies maintenance of issues. 6. Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

No formal education experience required. The ability to handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize tasks and projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, and Spanish (desired). Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.Certifications:

Ability to read and write reports and procedure manuals and keep accurate records. Employee must demonstrate the ability to interact tactfully and positively with Wilcox Farm staff and management. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to speak effectively to members/customers or employees of Wilcox Farms.Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Licenses or Certificates:

The employee is constantly required to stand and walk The employee is constantly required to stand and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.WORK Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job. Work is performed mainly in chicken barns that range in temperature from 80-92 degrees Fahrenheit and are dusty and typically humid.
