Warehouse Associate Job Type:
Full-time hourly position, non-exempt
Shift & Schedule :
8-hour shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM
  • 3:00 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Pay:
$19-21/hour

Onsite at Peak Metalworks located in East Chicago, IN Position Summary Peak Metalworks is a premier provider of high-quality metal fabrication services specializing in laser cutting, forming, and bending. Located in East Chicago, IN, Peak Metalworks services companies throughout the Midwest region and country. Serving various industries including agricultural, transportation, construction, and manufacturing, Peak Metalworks delivers precision-engineered metal components to meet the exacting standards of our clients. Peak Metalworks seeks a dependable and motivated Warehouse Associate to join our growing metal fabrication team. This position supports warehouse operations and production activities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and eager to learn manufacturing processes and equipment operation in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, stock, organize, and track raw materials and finished products
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory counts
  • Prepare, pack, and stage orders for shipment
  • Load and unload pallets, and materials using forklifts and other equipment
  • Support laser cutting operators by: o Loading metal sheets onto a laser table o Operating laser cutting equipment after training o Removing, sorting, and staging cut parts
  • Grind and finish metal parts as needed
  • Support press brake operators with bending and forming metal components
  • Operate handheld tools and basic fabrication equipment safely and effectively
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic equipment upkeep
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and production environment
  • Assist with general warehouse, shipping, and production duties as assigned
  • Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or fabrication experience is a plus, but not required
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification is highly preferred
  • Ability to operate or learn forklifts, laser equipment, and handheld tools
  • Basic computer data entry skills or willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a manufacturing environment Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform physical labor throughout the shift
  • Lift, move, and carry materials up to 50 lbs. (frequently) and up to 60 lbs. (occasionally)
  • Comfortable working in an industrial warehouse and fabrication environment around machinery, metal materials, and moderate noise levels Benefits
