Job Description

Job Summary The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving incoming materials, inspecting and documenting shipments, cutting and staging shelving components, and supporting overall warehouse operations. This role combines receiving, material handling, and shelving preparation duties. The ideal candidate can read and write English, is detail-oriented, comfortable with physical work, and able to work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment. Bilingual candidates are preferred. Shelving Cutting & Preparation Read and interpret cut sheets to accurately measure and cut shelving materials. Inspect cut materials for accuracy and quality. Stack and stage shelving components for easy transport and installation. Coordinate with the Shipping Manager to ensure shelving is ready according to schedule. Maintain cutting tools and equipment, performing basic upkeep as needed. Receiving & Inspection Receive and verify incoming shipments by comparing contents with purchase orders and packing lists. Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues to the Warehouse Manager or Purchasing. Accurately document shipment details including date, quantity, and condition. Turn in all receiving paperwork daily to the Purchasing department. Inventory & Organization Ensure materials are counted, labeled, and stored in designated warehouse locations. Maintain a clean, organized receiving and storage area. Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed. Equipment Operation Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (if certified or trained). Follow all safety protocols and use required PPE. Teamwork & Communication Work closely with procurement, quality control, shipping, and warehouse teams to resolve issues and maintain workflow. Assist with returns of defective or incorrect items, ensuring proper documentation. Support general warehouse operations as needed. Requirements Ability to read and write English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Ability to lift heavy materials as needed. Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse. Basic math and measurement skills. Experience with warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack) a plus. Experience in carpentry, cutting, or material handling is helpful but not required.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
