Hourly Reports to: Operations Manager Virginia Park Foods is the premier private label and contract manufacturer of gluten free pasta in the United States. Job Summary The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety in all material handling activities. This role provides leadership to warehouse staff, supports workflow coordination, assists with inventory management, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations. The Warehouse Lead will also operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, to support workload demands and support operations to maintain compliance with SQF, GMP, HACCP, and Cal/OSHA regulations. Contribute to ensure food safety, employee safety, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask efficiently, works well within a team, and always prioritizes safety in every task performed . Essential Duties and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for training and certifying forklift operators and maintaining all training and certification records in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), sanitation standards, and food safety programs (SQF/HACCP)
  • Oversee and guide warehouse team members in daily tasks, including receiving, shipping, staging, and inventory control.
  • Assign work and monitor performance to maintain productivity, accuracy, and safety standards.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed to support workload requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate receiving, picking, packing, and shipping of products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Support ongoing development of warehouse staff by providing guidance to warehouse coworkers.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other departments (production, logistics, quality, etc.) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the Banza Operations team and brokers for warehouse-related matters.
  • Address and resolve workflow or personnel issues in coordination with the Operations Manager.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Recommend coaching and/or discipline of departmental employees to the Warehouse Lead in accordance with company policies
  • Enforce workplace safety programs in alignment with Cal/OSHA, including: o Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) o Heat Illness Prevention (if applicable) o Equipment safety (forklifts, pallet jacks)
  • Ensure compliance with lot traceability and recall procedures
  • Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness (5S standards
CRITICAL SQF RESPONSIBILITIES
(AUDITOR FOCUS) Enforce SQF Code (Edition 9 or current) warehouse requirements Maintain full product traceability (1 step forward / 1 step back) Ensure compliance with: GMPs (21 CFR Part 117 Subpart B) Allergen control programs Pest control requirements Sanitation verification Support mock recall execution (within 2-4 hours) Ensure

inventory control Maintain documentation for: Receiving logs Temperature logs Shipping records Lot tracking Participate in internal and external audits Requirements & Qualifications
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of warehouse/distribution experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, safety standards, and inventory practices.
  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and foster a positive team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Work Environment This role requires standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods.
Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise. Full-time position with potential overtime based on business needs..
Preferred:
Experience in food manufacturing or distribution. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety practices. Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems. Work Environment Fast-paced warehouse and production setting. Frequent forklift operation. Exposure to warehouse conditions including varying temperatures. Regular lifting, standing, bending, and reaching. Noise levels consistent with industrial equipment operation. Must wear required PPE (steel-toe boots, safety vest, hairnet/beard net if applicable). Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Regular forklift operation Ability to safely climb in and out of forklift repeatedly.
