Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within the warehouse environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining smooth operations by handling materials with precision, operating heavy equipment safely, and supporting shipping and receiving functions. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-organized warehouse operation while developing valuable skills in materials handling and equipment operation.

Responsibilities:

Safely load and unload materials using appropriate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, adhering to OSHA safety standards. Perform order picking accurately using RF scanners and pickers to fulfill shipping orders efficiently. Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks to move materials within the warehouse. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper documentation. Manage inventory levels through proper storage, stacking, and organization of materials on pallets or shelves. Support warehouse management system (WMS) data entry for tracking inventory movements and order processing. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety protocols, and maintain a clean work environment. Participate in heavy lifting tasks and ensure proper handling techniques are followed to prevent damage or injury. Assist with construction-related material handling when necessary, supporting project logistics.

Skills:

Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles with warehouse experience preferred. Proficiency in operating forklifts, crane systems, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge related to warehouse machinery and safety standards such as OSHA regulations. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for accurate inventory control. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking and load/unload tasks. Knowledge of materials handling best practices within construction or industrial environments. Experience in warehouse supervisor roles or leadership positions is a plus for team coordination. Good understanding of OSHA safety protocols and compliance requirements. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors. Basic knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting for equipment maintenance. This position is integral to maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
