For nearly two decades, we have created ethically sourced, small-batch products in partnership with artisans around the world. With both wholesale and direct-to-consumer operations, our 40,000 sq. ft. California warehouse is a critical part of our business. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations, support our team, improve processes, and help ensure that our customers receive accurate, on-time orders. Position Summary The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee day-to-day warehouse operations while leading a team of approximately six employees. This role is responsible for receiving, quality control, inventory accuracy, picking, packing, shipping, safety, workflow planning, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership position. The right candidate is comfortable both managing the team and stepping onto the warehouse floor to solve problems, support priorities, and keep work moving. This person will also act as the key link between the warehouse and office teams, requiring strong communication skills and working knowledge of systems such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and shipping platforms. Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations Oversee daily warehouse functions, including receiving , quality control , restocking , picking, packing , shipping, inventory control , and general warehouse organization . Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately and on time. Plan daily workflow and prioritize labor based on order volume, receiving needs, containers, and shipping deadlines. Track warehouse performance, inventory movement, productivity, and key operational metrics. Maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures for key warehouse activities. Support container loading and unloading, including planning labor and resolving delays. Coordinate logistics, carrier pickups, shipment tracking, and transportation needs. Manage shipping documentation, including labels, bills of lading, shipment records, and carrier paperwork. Identify opportunities to reduce cost through better logistics planning, carrier selection, workflow improvements, and operational efficiency. Team Leadership Lead, supervise, coach, and motivate warehouse employees and temporary workers. Set clear expectations for quality, productivity, safety, attendance, and teamwork. Train employees on warehouse procedures, systems, safety practices, and equipment use. Address performance issues promptly and professionally. Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance feedback, and workforce development. Systems & Process Improvement Use and support warehouse, order management, shipping, and inventory systems. Work closely with office teams through NetSuite, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and related tools. Troubleshoot shipping issues, inventory discrepancies, system problems, and operational delays. Support system improvements, process changes, and warehouse workflow optimization. Manage cycle counts, inventory, and reconciliation processes. Improve warehouse layout, picking strategies, replenishment processes, and overall efficiency. Facility & Safety Oversight Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety procedures. Enforce proper equipment use and safe work practices. Coordinate repairs and maintenance for forklifts, pallet jacks, shelving, packing stations, warehouse equipment, and facility needs. Oversee janitorial schedules, supply ordering, facility upkeep, and vendor/property management communication as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of warehouse experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility. Experience managing warehouse performance, productivity, inventory accuracy, and operational KPIs. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Experience with WMS, OMS, shipping systems, or similar platforms. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working cross-functionally with office teams, vendors, carriers, and management. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams. Strong understanding of warehouse logistics, inventory control, shipping processes, and safety standards. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods. Ability to work in elevated areas and confined warehouse spaces when needed. Experience operating or overseeing the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment. Availability to work on site Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Preferred Qualifications Experience with NetSuite. Experience implementing or improving warehouse systems. Strong analytical and reporting skills. Proven success improving warehouse workflows, productivity, inventory accuracy, and team performance. Experience managing cycle counts and inventory reconciliation. Experience coordinating with carriers, freight partners, vendors, and property management. What Success Looks Like Warehouse operations run smoothly, accurately, and on schedule. Inventory is well organized, accurate, and easy to locate. Orders are picked, packed, and shipped correctly and on time. The team understands expectations and works with accountability and urgency. Safety standards are consistently followed. Warehouse layout, processes, and productivity continuously improve. Communication between the warehouse and office teams is clear, professional, and solution-oriented.
