Summary:
The Warehouse Specialist will perform all tasks involved in the shipping and receiving of support products and finished products for the plant. This involves following standard operating procedures, work instructions and safe work practices in all aspects of shipping and receiving, resulting in quality and efficient practices. The Warehouse Specialist will maintain data entry for the department, have a working knowledge of Microsoft Programs (Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook), have an overall understanding of the duties in the shipping/receiving department.
Requirements:
Must be a self-starter and self-motivated with keen observation skills Must be able to read and write in English. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations. Must show leadership ability and the ability to make critical decisions following company procedures. Must be able to work under a timeline and meet that timeline. Ability to keep focus under stressful situations. Ability to handle confrontational situations. Acts as a problem solver and team player. Ability to work required 8-hour shift with possible additional hours when necessary. Accountability # 1
  • Warehouse
  • (65%) Overall understanding of shipping and receiving processes, desire to use time and materials in the most efficient manner Ability to work with supervisors and all coworkers in a respectful and helpful manner.
Monitor all inbound and outbound freight is properly documented and conforms to Mariani standards. Insure First-In / First-Out (FIFO) operations Oversee day-to-day operations of scheduling, bill of ladings and questions in the absence of the Shipping Supervisor. Assure inventory accuracy. Work closely with materials and accounting departments to maintain inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts. Work with outside warehouse and freezer facilities Maintain and scan driver's license logs and review daily driver sign in logs for errors. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly Willing to work various shifts as directed. Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures Working knowledge AS400 and of Microsoft office products (Outlook, Excel, Word) Responsible for food safety. Complete other tasks set forth by the Warehouse Manager Assists in keeping area organized and orderly, disposes of garbage and empty cardboard as needed. Verify that weekly, Monthly, Quarterly sanitation duties are signed off and completed Responsible for ordering/scheduling production materials on a weekly basis Accountability # 2
  • Communications
  • (20%) Ensures clear and timely communication within department and with other departments to maximize plant efficiency.
Key performance indicators are recorded Pre-shift meetings are held at beginning of shifts Sending/responding to emails, reporting on any load issues and reporting any employee related issues that may arise. Notify production of issues in support product supplies and delayed deliveries. Communicate effectively with outside vendors, trucking companies, employees. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Keeps the management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during routine activities and actions being taken to improve the situation. Accountability # 3
  • Safety:
    (15%) Ensures that employees are using personal protective equipment (PPE) as intended to ensure employee safety. Makes sure tools and equipment are placed in designated areas to avoid clutter and poor visibility on lift trucks, or that slip/trip hazards do not occur. Ensures safety belts are worn on lift trucks and proper PPE is being used when needed. Accountability # 4
