Job Description

Position Summary Description To maintain the warehouse and associated storage facilities in such a manner, that the plant on-line capabilities will not be jeopardized due to the inaccessibility of material and spare parts. Ensure that all data is collected and captured on all inventory activity and loaded real time into the Inventory database. To issue, receive, transfer, stock and stage material all in accordance with Materials Management and Supply Section Practices. Qualifications and Education Requirements High school diploma required. One (1) year of inventory control/warehousing experience is required. Basic Knowledge of industry standards regarding inventory control and basic mathematic skills. Must be able to handle a variety of assignments. Must be capable of safely operating forklifts of various lift capacities. Must demonstrate ability to use various mechanical and hydraulic optional equipment for forklifts to safely handle materials of various sizes, shapes, and weights including drum grips, dog clamp, extended forks, and side straddle pipe carrier. Must be able to use hand and power tools such as hammer, crowbar, screwdriver, all type wrenches, nail puller, circular saw, power engraving tool, vacuum cleaner, measuring tape, bolt cutter, utility knife, hacksaw, and other similar tools. Must be able to operate intercom system and hand-held radio.

Immediately reports any, and all, environmental reportable incidents. Submits work requests for repairs of equipment, buildings, vehicles. Looks after SECI s best interest in dealing with vendors, contractors, and when performing custodial duties regarding the security of the Inventory. Pulls parts and material for Work Orders requested by printed picking tickets, phone calls, or walk-up customers. Performs real time data entry for issues, and returns, of parts and material from the Inventory database to ensure accurate Inventory counts and proper financial accounting. Kits parts and materials, and stages them in designated areas for Work Orders planned for future work. Pulls Daily Delivery parts and materials as scheduled by the Maintenance Department. Delivers of parts and materials, both Inventoried and Non-Inventoried, throughout the plant. Submits Inventory items for Inventory Adjustment, as needed, to the Warehouse Supervisor for a number of reasons including correction of Inventory quantity reporting or to dispose of expired shelf-life items. Rotates Stock to maintain shelf life of parts and materials. Operates material handling equipment including fork trucks, pallet jacks, and plant delivery vehicles, in order to unload deliveries, move parts in and out of stock storage locations, and deliver parts to the jobsite. Unloads and inspects deliveries ensuring that counts and delivery documents are in order and any damage or discrepancies are noted and reported promptly. Processes receipts, of parts and material, verifies part number and nomenclature matches for Inventoried and Non-Inventoried items. Performs real time data entry for receipts, of parts and material, into the Inventory database to ensure accurate Inventory counts and proper financial accounting. Ensures that paints, chemicals, or other substances that may present an environmental or physical hazard, have had pre-approval and have an existing MSDS on file. Physically stocks parts and materials and rotates stock using LIFO and FIFO practices to ensure items do not exceed shelf-life expectancies. Tags fixed assets, as defined, with property identification numbers and ensures that proper documentation is filled out and submitted to the Property Accounting department. Ships lab samples, repair items, returns for credit, etc. and ensures that all necessary documentation is filled out, using signatures for chain of custody, and is in compliance with any, and all, regulatory agency rules. Coordinates pick up of outbound shipments with commercial carriers. Participates in annual, semi-annual, or monthly Inventory Counts to verify matches, or discrepancies, between the physical count on the shelf and the indicated quantity in the Inventory database. Performs the count in accordance with standard accounting principles to ensure the integrity of the Inventory. Performs housekeeping duties including bin row / pallet rack maintenance as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor. Performs duties as assigned, on recurring PMs, for stored Inventory items such as rotation of motors, oil level checks, storage vessel pressures, and expiration dates. Takes periodic classes for training of DOT Waste Handling and Management. Takes initial RCRA training (hazardous waste) and annual refresher class. Assists in pickup and disbursement of surplus property regarding Investment Recovery. Disposes of depreciated, used, and obsolete parts and material as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor. Assists Supply Management in the resolution of problems, or questions, regarding purchases using Credit Cards, Purchase Orders, or Contracts. Assists Accounts Payable in the resolution of problems, or questions, regarding purchases using Credit Cards, Purchase Orders, or Contracts. Assists Property Accounting in the resolution of problems, or questions, regarding fixed asset purchases using Credit Cards, Purchase Orders, or Contracts. Works with various departments regarding receipts, issues, and staging of parts and materials. Calls vendors, if required, for packing slips, purchase order numbers, or tracking numbers. Assists, if necessary, in unloading, or loading, of Contractor parts, materials, or equipment. Makes runs to town or other locations to pick up parts or material needed by the plant as directed by Supply Management and the Warehouse Supervisor. Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned. Physical Requirements Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must possess a valid driver s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report . Long periods of standing are required. Must wear personal protection equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, gloves, and work shoes suitable for an industrial environment. May be required to ascend stairs/elevator to the top of open structures 250 feet high. Must be able to lift up to seventy-five (75) pounds. Working Conditions Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. While working in substations there are the potential for exposure to hazards typical of a utility working environment. Will have to perform a variety of duties at various locations at the Plant site. May be required to work extra hours, shift work, and to report to the Plant during emergency situations. Will spend time in outside conditions, exposed to heat, dust, noise, and temperature variations. Must operate vehicle/forklifts in a congested, industrial environment. Job is performed at the plant site warehouse facilities and various delivery points throughout the plant. May be required to travel to other company locations or vendor facilities.
