Lift station Operator /Waste Water Technician Position Description:
Operate, monitor, maintain and trouble-shoot the wastewater treatment facility and its processes. Work involves responsibility for the management and maintenance of The Great Outdoors wastewater collection system. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the WWTP Superintendent.Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or GED certificateLicensure Requirements:
Current State of Florida driver license State of Florida Grade "C" Wastewater Operator's Certification preferred.Experience and Background Requirements :
1-year minimum experience in waste water operations and systems.Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
Lift Stations:
(7 large and 7 small stations) preventative maintenance to include lift station cleaning, exercising of the valves in the valve box vault, inspecting for infiltration or abnormalities that may be a sign of a problem and keeping the floats clear of a problem and keeping the floats clear of excessing grease buildup. Control panel and SCADA communication box inspection is necessary to ensure electronics are in good condition. Troubleshooting will be necessary at times to maintain equipment is working and in good repair.SCADA monitoring system:
keep a daily interaction with our SCADA system to monitor control panel power and pump operations at various lift stations in addition to their well levels. Pull reports to plan for daily maintenance activities. 201 manholes: monitor structural condition of wall, bench and channel, pipes and seals.Sewer mains:
monitor proper flow, troubleshoot and clear blockages, plan and execute repairs, budget for and schedule cleaning, video inspection and keep regular organized records of such activities.Sewer laterals:
laterals in the easement only on private property and full laterals outside of CSA buildings will be the maintenance responsibility of the collection systems supervisor. Maintain proper flow and make necessary repairs.Additional responsibilities:
Assist with the installation and inspection of new sewer lines and services. On call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant and pump stations. Perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations. Maintain open communications with the Superintendent regarding the pump stations operation and malfunctions, as well as make recommendations for repairs and improvements to these systems. Have a working knowledge of the machinery used for wastewater pumping stations. Have the ability to work with independence and to make routine decisions on the operation of the equipment.Physical Demands:

Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to handle all aspects of operating equipment necessary to perform the job function, i.e., start, effectively utilize, turn off, etc. Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday. Have the ability to descend and climb a maximum of 30 rungs to access system pump stations. Have adequate respiratory function to utilize self-contained breathing apparatus.
