GENERAL SUMMARY

Assists in the oversight and operation of the Town's wastewater and water treatment plants per all state and federal regulations. Monitors the performance and maintains the pumping stations. Conducts testing and inspection of the wastewater and water systems. Ensures proper functioning of pump stations through regular checks and inspections. Reads utility meters as assigned; turns water services off and on. Responds to service/repair tickets. Performs emergency repairs as needed.

• Oversees and assists in the operation, maintenance, and reporting of the wastewater and water treatment systems ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Oversees the routine inspection and maintenance of the pumping station to ensure proper performance and operation.
• Oversees the performance of daily testing, monitoring and observations necessary for ensuring proper performance of the wastewater and water treatment plants.
• Troubleshoots issues with treatment and transmission systems including equipment, SCADA, electrical, and controls.
• Operates valves, motors, and controls in the operation of treatment and transmission systems.
• Reads, monitors, and records wastewater and water flows.
• Conducts routine maintenance of buildings and grounds of all Town facilities.
• Oversees and assists in repairs and maintenance of all wastewater and water equipment.
• Assists in the reading of utility meters as needed.
• Performs related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least four (4) years of related work experience Required Licenses or Certifications
• State of Delaware Level IV Wastewater Operator's license
• State of Delaware Water Operator's license within one year of hire Preferred License
• Class
