Job Description

The town is committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment for residents and workers alike. The Town of Milford is seeking a dependable and skilled Wastewater Treatment Operator to support the operation and maintenance of the Town's wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems. Key Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment plant processes and pump stations Collect samples and perform laboratory testing Monitor equipment, gauges, SCADA systems, and maintain accurate logs Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical and control systems Operate biosolids dewatering equipment Identify and respond to safety hazards and emergency situations Assist with training of other operators Perform facility and grounds maintenance as needed Skills & Experience Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Dependable, safety‑focused, and team‑oriented Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two (2) years of wastewater treatment or related experience (or equivalent combination) NH Grade II Wastewater Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, vehicles, and equipment Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating on‑call shifts Must be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating on‑call duty Ability to meet physical demands and work indoors and outdoors in all conditions Why Join the Town of Milford?
