Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Employment Opportunity Marysville Borough Perry County, in Marysville PA, is searching for a full-time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator position is responsible for operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment facility and sanitary sewer collection system. The scope of work includes but is not limited to monitoring and adjustments of the treatment plant process, flow reading, collecting samples, lab sampling and testing, and installation/maintenance/repair of mechanical pumps and controls. The operator will administer the technical aspects of plant operations, ensure compliance with state and federal operating regulations, and maintain underground sewer systems. The operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining an activated sludge Wastewater Treatment Facility. Other duties include grounds keeping, housekeeping of the buildings, and snow plowing. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and skills. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. We prefer candidates who hold a PA‑DEP Class C or E Wastewater Operator Certification, including Subclass 1-4. However, we are willing to train or provide training opportunities for the right candidate. The position requires you to be on-call, weekend, and holiday plant checks on a rotating basis. Safety is a priority. Mechanical knowledge is a must. Work is performed inside and outside all year long. EOE Requires valid PA driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL license within the probationary period. Must be local (within a 30-minute drive of wastewater treatment facility).
