Wasak is seeking a Water Management Plan Specialist to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who is dependable, organized, hands-on, and interested in learning the water treatment and building water management industry. This role will support the development, organization, and maintenance of Water Management Plans for customers subject to New Jersey's Legionella law, S2188. These plans are intended to help building owners and facility operators document, monitor, and manage building water systems to reduce the risk of Legionella growth and support compliance efforts. No advanced water treatment experience is required. The right candidate will receive training and work with experienced team members to learn how to assist with site visits, collect water system information, organize documentation, support sampling, update Water Management Plans, and help customers maintain accurate records. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the field, meeting customers, learning technical systems, staying organized, and building a long-term career in a specialized industry. Key Responsibilities Travel to customer sites throughout New Jersey and nearby areas. Assist with site visits and walkthroughs of commercial, industrial, healthcare, multifamily, institutional, and facility building water systems. Help document building water systems covered by New Jersey S2188, including cooling towers, domestic hot water systems, cold water systems, boilers, closed loops, storage tanks, pumps, and related equipment. Support the creation, review, and updating of Water Management Plans for Legionella prevention and New Jersey compliance support. Collect information needed for Water Management Plans, including equipment details, system locations, flow patterns, maintenance procedures, monitoring points, and customer records. Collect water samples for laboratory analysis after training. Perform basic water testing after training. Assist with organizing customer records, service logs, sample results, inspection notes, corrective actions, and water management documentation. Help maintain accurate documentation for Legionella support, cooling tower records, and S2188-related compliance programs. Take clear notes, photos, and field observations during customer visits. Communicate professionally with facility managers, building engineers, property managers, and internal team members. Report missing information, unusual water system conditions, safety concerns, or documentation gaps to supervisors. Support follow-up tasks related to Water Management Plan updates, corrective actions, annual reviews, and customer service needs. Identify customer needs and service opportunities while working with supervisors and the Wasak team. Use company systems, forms, or mobile tools to complete service reports and documentation. Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and customer site rules. Qualifications Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. No prior water treatment experience required; training will be provided. Strong organization and attention to detail. Comfortable working in the field and traveling to customer locations. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to take accurate notes and maintain clear documentation. Comfortable using a phone, tablet, computer, or mobile app for reports and records. Willingness to learn about water treatment, building water systems, Legionella prevention, New Jersey S2188, and compliance documentation. Reliable, professional, and able to follow instructions. Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred. Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and other customer environments. Ability to lift, carry, climb stairs, and walk customer sites as needed. Preferred But Not Required Experience in field service, facilities, HVAC, plumbing, maintenance, construction, environmental services, water treatment, sales, or customer service. Trade school, technical school, environmental science, public health, engineering technology, or related coursework. Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in building systems. Experience with documentation, reporting, inspections, checklists, compliance paperwork, or customer records. Comfort speaking with customers and identifying opportunities for additional support or service. OSHA, safety training, or similar certifications are a plus. Work Environment This is a field-based position. The employee will spend much of the day in a company vehicle traveling to customer locations, meeting with facility staff, walking building water systems, collecting information, taking samples, and supporting Water Management Plan documentation. Work may take place in mechanical rooms, rooftops, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, schools, multifamily buildings, hotels, senior housing facilities, and other customer sites that may be subject to New Jersey S2188 requirements.
Compensation Base salary range:
